Villa Holidays In The Greek Islands

If you are looking for a fantastic family holiday then why not consider visiting one of the Greek Islands. With so many different Islands on offer, and each with their own personality, you can be sure of finding something that will suit your whole family regardless of age. With a variety of Islands on offer you will be able to choose one designed for rest & relaxation or one more moulded towards fun and frolics with a plethora of activities for the whole family to try.

A Greek island villa holiday will allow you and your family to holiday at your own leisure. You will be able to have the facilities to cook whenever you feel like it and if you want to you are free to explore the Islands at your leisure and return back to your wonderful villa, with all mod cons, afterwards. A villa makes an ideal base for you and your family when staying on the Greek Islands.

Skopelos: Located between Skiathos and Alonossis you will find Skopelos. This is by far the greenest of all of the Greek Islands and you will not be able to fly here due to its minute size. You will need to travel to Skiathos and then take a ferry or hydrofoil to a port on Skopelos, however, don’t let this put you off as it just makes for a more interesting trip allowing you to see some of the beautiful ocean that surrounds these wonderful Islands. Skopelos is a very traditional Greek Island and while here you can take in some of the beautiful sights that this Island has to offer. There are many churches, monasteries, convents and places of worship here which make for truly stunning destinations. You will find lots of wildlife here including turtle doves, partridges and many rare birds of prey. There are many beautiful walks to be enjoyed here and you can take in some wonderful sights including a shrine to the Island’s saint who is said to have slain a dragon that ate the population living here in ancient times. There are beautiful cobbled streets here and you will be able to enjoy the beautiful weather while admiring the gorgeous little houses here.

Corfu: Being one of the most popular Greek Islands it is fair to say that Corfu is jam packed full of wonderful things to see and do. There are flights available to here from around the world so if you want a straight forward hop on a plane to your destination then Corfu is the Island for you. Corfu is a wonderful place with a tradition of ‘filoxenia’ which means to be friendly towards strangers and this friendliness extends throughout the whole Island making for a truly welcoming experience. You will find lots to see and do here with numerous shops, bars, restaurants and cafés just waiting to be explored. The Old Town, crammed with its beautiful narrow paths and alleyways, plays host to some gorgeous buildings with red tiles and pastel coloured walls which will remind of Italy. There are many different types of flower waiting to be observed here too and this Island is home to over 40 different species of orchid, many of which can be found growing wild by the side of the road.

Whether you choose the quiet Island of Skopelos or the more built up tourist area of Corfu you will not be spoilt for choice. Both Islands, like all others in this area, have something unique to offer and even the built up Island of Corfu has wonderful little villas just waiting to be explored. Whether you are looking for a villa off the beaten track or close to all amenities for you and your family you will not be disappointed when you stay in a villa on the Greek Islands.
