Beautiful Toledo, Spain

It is always nice to remember this beautiful city of Toledo in Spain. I visited it twice during our trip to Spain recently. The name of this city has a two thousand years of history dating back to the Roman times. It is around 70 km south of Madrid.

During our first visit last December 9, 2011, we had a tour guide that brought us to the different historical sights of Toledo. It is always interesting knowing the history, culture and people of a certain place like Toledo.

Since this is the last Thursday of 2011, I would like to take the chance to greet all the readers, viewers and visitors of this blog a happy and more bountiful New Year 2012 with peace, love and happiness to everyone!

I am wishing and hoping for more travels next year. God's willing!

Toledo was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1986 for its extensive cultural and monumental heritage as one of the former capitals of the Spanish Empire and place of coexistence of Christian, Jewish and Muslim cultures, as well as the place where harsh religious persecutions were held against the Jews.

Linderhof Palace in Bavaria, Germany

This is one of the favorite palaces I visited in Germany. Linderhof Palace was commissioned by King Ludwig II of Bavaria. It is so far the smallest of the three palaces he built. What I love most is the location of Linderhof. The scenery around is breath-taking, with hills and mountains, forest, gardens and a little lake nearby.

We had the chance to go inside the palace. Sad to say, no pictures are allowed to take inside. I admired everything I saw inside especially the never ending avenue reflected by the Hall of Mirrors. The Audience Chamber, the dining room and the bedchamber are also amazing.

The water parterre in front of the castle is dominated by a large basin with the gilt fountain group "Flora and puttos". The fountain itself is nearly 25 meters high.

Christmas Tree Is Up

The spirit of the holiday season is slowly coming. Others might not have their Christmas tree yet but I did. Since tomorrow is the first Sunday of Advent, I decided that I will finish my Christmas decors before that day comes. Finally, I am done with everything. I already have my Christmas lights on our windows, Advent candles be to lit for tomorrow and other Christmas decors in the house.

Here is my lively Christmas tree. I just have a part of it to show the different reflections and shadows of the light.

The Fountain in Monte Carlo

My friend's daughter who was with us during our trip to Monaco last spring time told me that if ever she has a choice, she wants to live in Monaco. She was amazed by the beauty of the place especially that it is located along the waters. If I have the choice and the chance, I want to live there too..lol!

Here is the fountain situated in front of the famous casino in Monte Carlo. It is a privileged to visit and see this place. I wish to go inside the casino in my next visit.
